Email fights

Recently there has been a huge fight between free web-based e-mails. I have an account on most (Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, Gmail, etc.) and I personally enjoy Gmail the most. It is very open to suggestions and they are always making improvements.

Here’s a recent e-mail from Hotmail:

Focus on your E-mail

Important Reminder:

There is a simple way to block those annoying pop-ups ads. We have a great new MSN© Toolbar with pop-up blocker that allows you to choose on which websites you would like to see pop-up advertisements. The MSN Toolbar also gives you quick access to your MSN e-mail after you have been browsing the web. Click here to find out more.

Alternatively, if you want to have a completely free graphical ad experience, sign up for MSN© Hotmail© Plus. This offers you a graphical ad-free experience as well as the following:

  • Virtually unlimited storage space with a 2GB inbox with 20MB attachment size
  • Freedom from the 30-day Hotmail account expiration policy. Your Hotmail account will never expire.
  • 35 custom filters to organize your inbox allowing you to sort incoming e-mails automatically to folders of your choice.

-Google toolbar has an email blocker as well. Also gives you quick access to your Gmail.

O wow! 2mb? where gmail has 1000mb…….only a 10mb attachment however, but still outshines the storage space incredibly.

Hotmail’s filtering is slowly slipping. Forwards about events from my friends are now getting blocked if they are forwarded above a limit. I dunno what gmail’s expiration policy is however.
